The MARS Pathfinder dome comfortably seats a standard classroom and is perfect for interactive learning through totally customizable programs. Students are most engaged when asking questions and having them answered, so our programs are designed to evolve as they happen to accommodate the interests of students.

Sky Safari
Grades K-2
Explore the the wonders above your head in more detail than you ever could in your backyard. Students in grades K-2 can explore the motion and patterns of day and night, the phases of the moon, and the changing seasons as viewed from planet Earth.

Grades 3-5
Embark on a journey through time to see how our world has formed and changed over billions of years, and explore the other worlds of our solar system big and small. From Pluto to Jupiter, strange new worlds await

Meet the MARS Pathfinder Dome
Our inflatable dome sets up in about 40 minutes and fits in any indoor space at least 25'x25' with 12' ceilings and a power outlet.
Once set up, we’re ready to welcome a whole classroom full of space explorers for a truly immersive experience that makes you feel like you’re actually floating among the stars.

Scouts
Scouting is a fantastic way to learn and get in touch with the world around you! The MARS Planetarium is excited to support Scout programs by offering comprehensive lessons to help earn astronomy merit badges, pins, patches, and belt loops!
Scouts will learn to navigate the night sky using our 30-person Pathfinder dome, and (weather permitting) even look through a real telescope! See the moon, planets, and nebulae up close! Not dark enough to see the stars? Use a special solar filter to safely witness the power of the Sun!

Scott is a passionate astronomy educator, boasting over a decade teaching astronomy and working in planetariums, armed with a Bachelors of Science in Physics and a Masters in Aerospace Engineering. From the curiosity sparked watching Star Trek as a kid to the present, Scott has worked in domes of all sizes, fostering a love for the cosmos. With a track record of engaging tens of thousands of students across the country, his mission is clear: making space accessible and exciting for all.

The Pathfinder dome seats up to 30 children comfortably. Capacity may be subject to adjustment for older students or adults. Additional fees for outdoor setup may apply.
Service Area
Our standard service area encompasses the entirety of Orange County, in addition to significant portions of Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Riverside, and San Diego Counties.
Bookings for venues outside the standard service area are possible, though they may incur additional travel fees.
